Trick or Treat Letter

Dear Writer,

Thanks so much for writing a fic or other piece of writing (I'm open to IF or other alternative fiction media) for me in this exchange! I'm really excited to see what you create! Feel free to disregard my prompts if you don't like any of them - I'm really not picky except with my DNWs.

General Likes - unexpected twists, subversions/new explanations of canon material, clever explanations or interpretations of canon plotholes, canon-divergent AUs, slow burn, friends to lovers (or enemies to friends to lovers), magical realism, time travel, surrealism (playing with the border between reality and unreality), characters being intelligent and competent, romance between eldritch horrors/gods/demons/immortal beings and normal humans, age difference, gay relationships (either f/f or m/m), speaking to the dead, GHOSTS, and on-the-very-edge-of-healthy codependent relationships (or even unhealthy codependent relationships, as long as all the participants are happy in the relationship - no Stockholm syndrome please).

General Dislikes - fake dating AU, sex without love, miscommunication-driven plot, love triangles, jealousy

General DNWs - Non-con, hate sex, infidelity, abusive f/f relationships, graphic mutilation/eye horror/hand horror/body horror with a living, aware person (corpse mutilation is fine and zombie mutilation is fine).

For this exchange, I tend to enjoy treats that are more than just plotless fluff (like, a small but meaningful conversation between some characters would be fine, but a description of a sleepy morning that could be applied to any couple is not my cup of tea). I like tricks of the horror variety - I'm not big into major angst or straight-up violence, but creeping despair or atmospheric horror or canon details turned terrible and horrific are my jam.

Specific fandoms:

Oxenfree (Trick or Treat): Margaret Adler, Anna Shea 

Oxenfree-specific DNWs: Explicitly straight Anna, Maggie Adler, or Alex. (They're all VERY GAY (or bi or pan or ace) in my head, so as long as you don't explicit contradict this, it's all fine.)

I appreciate the horror aspects of this game and the fridge horror that emerges when you replay it again. The ill-fated friendship of Anna and Maggie intrigued me, and it's very open for interpretation. Whatever way you want to develop their characters, go for it. Personally, I think they're in a committed lesbain relationship, but you don't have to go this direction.

Treat ideas: Anna and Maggie arguing about codes and ciphers, and it turns into a playful (or loving) moment between the two of them. Maybe they explore the island together and have a quiet day on the beach. (If you manage to make the treat bittersweet with hints of what comes later, more power to you. I like my treats with a hint of trick.)

Trick ideas: What if Maggie got stuck in a time loop of her own, since the Sunken seem to be able to manipulate time? Or you could just explore the canon version of events - there's plenty of trick potential in the canon material.


Young Wizards (Treat or Trick): Lone Power, Kit Rodriguez, Nita Callahan

Young Wizard DNWs - PWPs

This is one fandom that I love crossovers in, so if you have a hankering to do a crossover with another fandom (and I mean literally any other fandom - I'm a serial fandom hopper) go for it. Besides that, I've always been most attached to the main characters from the first book (+ the Lone Power) so stories that center around things that were introduced. The fact that the Lone Power can now change is very important to me. :) I like Nina/Kit or anyone/Lone Power.

Treats: Nina and Kit having an amusing adventure with other beings, the Lone Power having a real conversation with Nina, some character (in another fandom) receiving the Manual

Tricks: The Lone Power's freedom turning out badly, someone's ordeal gets creepy/dangerous


Boku No Hero Academia (Treat or Trick): Midoriya Izuku, Shinsou Hitoshi, Tokoyami Fumikage, Bakugou Katsuki, Aizawa Shouta

Boku No Hero DNWs - Permanent Character Death

I love all the Boku No Hero kids. My ships in this fandom are anyone/Izuku, and I really enjoy Shinsou interacting with Aizawa, because I feel like Aizawa would understand Shinsou's mindset and quirk and would train him really well. Shinsou is wonderful (his quirk and how it's affected his life is really interesting), Tokoyami isn't focused on enough - I'd like more exploration of him, and Kacchan is fantastic, although I don't really like how he bullies Izuku :( and i'm glad he's getting better.

Treats: Izuku and Shinsou are childhood friends instead of Izuku and Kacchan, Fluff and/or sex times between Izuku and anyone, Aizawa training one of the kids?

Tricks: Izuku has a different, creepy-ish quirk (or he gets All for One), there is something more, something disturbing about Tokoyami's quirk, someone's ghost haunts Izuku.


Harry Potter (Treat or Trick): Harry Potter and Gellert Grindelwald

Harry Potter DNWs - Mundane AU

Harry Potter is my fav character, and I love AUs in which he's a Slytherin in truth - more cunning, inquisitive, intelligent, or morally grey than in the books. I ship him with like, every male character, so however rare your pairs, I promise I will like your Harry ships. I really enjoy Hogwarts-era fic with him, or post-Hogwarts fic if he's become competent at some profession other than auror. (Tom/Harry is very near and dear to my heart, but don't feel obligated to write this.)

Grindelwald is so interesting to me - a charismatic Dark Lord with knowledge of the Deathly Hallows. I really like the implications of his fucked-up thing with Albus, and I do wonder what would happen if he were to ever meet Harry. I have watched Fantastic Beasts, so even tho this isn't a Fantastic Beasts request, do feel free to bring in characters from that if necessary.

Treat: Harry learning more about the culture of the wizarding world, esp. around Samhain, Grindelwald and Albus fluffy time (with FUCKED UP implications), Harry making friends in other houses, Grindelwald meets Harry

Trick: Harry's Horcrux has more of an affect than in canon, Grindelwald meets Harry (could be either fluff or HELLA creepy is all I'm saying), Time Turners aren't just "time travel devices" - they do something that really fucks up the world and there are Consequences.


Haikyuu!! (Treat): Hinata Shouyou

I just love my sunshine child? I ship anyone/Hinata, esp. people he has a rivalry with (Oikawa, Kageyama, Wakatoshi, etc.). I also like Haikyuu/other sports anime crossovers. Maybe Hinata in another school AU? Or fluffy/sexy shit between Hinata/anyone? Or Hinata trying to learn how to set and failing?
